HISTORY

Earl and Thomas Slusser founded Slusser Brothers in 1965. The company began with home construction, but swiftly grew and expanded into state and federal contracts. Eventually, Slusser shifted to road and interstate construction, bridges, airports, paving and earth work for industrial parks and their tenants.

In 1999, the Slusser family sold the company to CRH plc in Dublin, Ireland, and became a member of Oldcastle Materials, Inc. The company eventually formed part of the Mid-Atlantic Group of Oldcastle along with partner companies, Pennsy Supply, Tilcon Delaware and Pioneer Concrete. Oldcastle is the leading vertical integrated supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete and paving services in the United States and is one of four divisions of CRH plc, in the international building materials group.
